Ghana Digital Innovation Week 2025: Catalysing Change Through Innovation and Digital Transformation
Accra, Ghana — 22nd October 2025 – Ghana Digital Innovation Week (GDIW) 2025 has officially kicked off with a nationwide celebration of creativity, technology, and entrepreneurship under the theme “Catalysing Change – Innovation and Digital Transformation at the Centre.” Sponsored by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH through the Digital Transformation Centre Ghana, this year’s GDIW showcases how innovation is transforming local economies and empowering communities across the country.
Regional editions held in Takoradi, Techiman, Tamale, and Kumasi have set the stage for a powerful national dialogue. Each event spotlighted local innovators and startups developing solutions that address real-world challenges — from agritech and climate-smart innovations to digital trade and youth entrepreneurship. The regional momentum reflects a growing culture of collaboration, as innovators, policymakers, and private sector actors work together to shape Ghana’s digital future.
“Innovation is no longer a future aspiration — it’s happening now in every region of Ghana,” said Amma Lartey, Executive Director of Impact Investing Ghana (IIGH), one of the lead conveners and hosts of GDIW 2025. “GDIW gives us the opportunity to amplify the stories of innovators solving Ghana’s most pressing challenges with creativity and technology.”
From the government’s perspective, Mr Eric Adjei, Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), emphasized GDIW’s role in strengthening Ghana’s innovation ecosystem: “Through GDIW, we are nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs and problem-solvers who are ready to create sustainable impact. This initiative supports the national agenda to position Ghana as a hub for innovation and digital excellence in Africa.”
Representing the wider innovation ecosystem, Yaw Adu-Gyamfi, Chairperson of the Ghana Hubs Network, noted: “The collaboration across hubs during GDIW shows the strength of our innovation community. Together, we’re creating opportunities for startups to thrive and for ideas from every region to be heard on the national stage.”
GDIW 2025 continues to demonstrate how collective effort can drive inclusive digital transformation. As the journey moves toward the Grand Finale in Accra from November 12–14, 2025, anticipation is building for a national celebration that will bring together regional winners, ecosystem leaders, and international partners to showcase Ghana’s innovation story to the world.
